  • The Project Manager agent doesn’t manage projects but can benefit accidental project managers.
  • Using the agent requires an M365 Copilot license, which may not be necessary for all project members.
  • Project artifacts created by the agent could be subject to regulatory compliance or organizational policies.
  • Planner, the agent’s host, is a lightweight tool that lacks the enterprise project management features in the retiring Project Online.

The Project Manager agent (PMA) assists project managers but isn’t going to replace them. After it creates simple plans, users set key details like priority, effort, and duration on tasks. Tasks can be assigned to the agent, like research and deliverables, and it generates responses users can edit in Loop. The PMA also can generate status reports and create tasks from Whiteboard, which agile teams may like. A Microsoft 365 Group is required for the agent to create and access project content in Teams and SharePoint. To access advanced project management features, the agent needs a premium Planner subscription plus the M365 Copilot license.
