Analyst ReportPower Platform’s Final Release Wave and How Updates Will Now Be Delivered
- Power Platform is no longer delivering updates in “waves” and is moving to a continuous delivery model.
- The final release wave delivered enhancements to Power Platform offerings, such as new vibe-coding, automation, and security features.
- Power Platform continues to receive heavy investment with dozens of features.
- The new delivery approach could impact organizations’ planning and processes, as they must now monitor changes continually rather than semiannually.
Power Platform 2026 Wave 1 has concluded. Microsoft continues to add dozens of new features and enhancements to Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and Power Pages in areas such as vibe coding, security posture, governance, testing, and analytics. The improvements could help makers be more productive with Power Platform while helping administrators manage their deployments. The wave delivery cycle will no longer be used; it will be replaced with continual delivery of previews and generally availability of updates, which are published to Microsoft’s “AI at Work Roadmap,” so organizations need to adapt to the new rollout cadence.
