Feb. 2024: Advanced Communications is no longer available. Capabilities that were originally included in Advanced Communications either no longer require additional licensing, or are included in Teams Premium.

Advanced Communications provides additional Teams meetings and live events capacity when added to Microsoft 365 Enterprise and Office 365 Enterprise F3, E3, and E5 plans. The Advanced Communications User Subscription License (User SL), which is only available as an add-on, will enable Teams meetings of up to 1,000 interactive users compared to the base meeting limit of 300 attendees. Additional attendees will be able to join the meeting in a view-only experience for up to 20,000 participants, a capability exclusive to Advanced Communications. Only the meeting organizer is required to have an Advanced Communications User SL assigned. For live events, event organizers with an Advanced Communications User SL will be able to host live events in Teams for up to 20,000 attendees with a duration of up to 16 hours, and up to 50 simultaneous live events can be hosted within a single tenancy.
