Azure Security Center includes free security best practice suggestions and basic security alerts for Azure resources. Paid instances of the Security Center Standard tier of service add proactive security tools primarily designed to help secure instances of Azure VMs, or Windows Server or Linux OS instances running on-premises or in Azure, and Azure PaaS database services, including Azure SQL Database.
