The BizTalk Server Preview provides a large set of built-in components and tools for setting up interchanges. BizTalk Server also provides APIs for plugging in custom components. The table below breaks down these offerings into three layers: delivery (secure transport of messages), message processing (analyzing and building messages), and document processing (routing and converting business documents).





  Tools Built-in components APIs for custom components
Delivery Wizards for setting delivery, encoding, and security options in agreements and pipelines. Message delivery via FTP, HTTP, or MSMQ network protocols, or by reading and writing file system directories and log files.

Transport encoding using MIME.

Encryption/decryption and digital signatures using PKCS and S/MIME standards.

Interchange API enables applications or custom transport protocols to submit messages to BizTalk Server for inbound processing.
