The six different server licenses and CALs available for Communications Server 2007 are outlined below.

License	Price¹	Description
Standard Edition Server License	US$699	Provides the right to run a single instance of Communications Server 2007 on a server.
Enterprise Edition Server License	US$3,999	Provides improved scalability and availability; required only for Communications Server 2007 machines deployed as front end servers pooled together in a load-balanced cluster.
Standard CAL²	US$31	Provides the right to use Communications Server 2007’s presence and IM functions as well as a restricted set of voice and video calling capabilities. Can be used with either edition of the server.
Enterprise CAL²	US$139	Adds the right to use all Communications Server 2007 features not covered by the Standard CAL, including voice and video calling and PBX integration capabilities, as well as on-premise Web conferencing. Can be used
