The EBS Administration Console provides a single point where the administrator can check the status of the servers and perform maintenance tasks. The console is divided into four key areas: a row of tabs across the top that group related information and tasks, a status pane that displays the current status of key services or workloads, a details pane at the bottom of the display that shows information for the selected service or workload, and on the right side of the console, available tasks or tools, such as System Center Essentials for managing or configuring the selected item.

Shown is the System Health tab with the health monitoring status of key domain services (expanded), as well as e-mail and Internet services (collapsed).

Other tabs include the following

  • Security, for monitoring the status of security services including Forefront Security for Exchange Server and the Forefront Threat Management Gateway
  • Computers and Devices, for monitoring all devices in the EBS Active
