Exchange will probably not get a major release before 2007, and Microsoft has not announced any future releases beyond Exchange Edge Services, a new edition of Exchange designed for spam filtering, virus scanning, and other e-mail gateway functions. Microsoft says it no longer plans to deliver a release code-named Kodiak, which uses SQL Server database components for storage.
