Customers running SharePoint 2007 should consider migration. Shown here are important upcoming dates for recent versions of SharePoint Server (which has also been called SharePoint Portal Server).

Hotfixes or other support for SharePoint Server 2007 require a paid support contract, since Mainstream support concluded in Oct. 2012. Consequently, organizations running it may want to consider their migration path.

Customers running SharePoint 2010 must now have their servers upgraded to SharePoint SP1 in order to continue receiving support, and SharePoint Server 2007 now requires SP3 for support.
