Eleven current Microsoft server products are licensed under the Server + CAL model, which generally requires a server license for servers running the server product and a Client Access License (CAL) for each client user or device accessing these servers. The adjacent chart lists these products, along with a short product description.

Note that all the products listed, except for SQL Server, are licensed under the Server + CAL model exclusively. SQL Server, depending on version or edition, offers customers the option of licensing under an alternative Processor or Core licensing model.
