Office 365 will introduce new suites of Microsoft-hosted services for businesses. Shown here are four planned suites for large organizations and some of the capabilities they include. Prices are per user, per month, before any volume discounts.

The suite E1 corresponds to today’s Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), and current BPOS customers will eventually be migrated to this suite. Among other functions, it will offer Exchange e-mail and scheduling; Lync instant messaging (IM), presence, and Web conferencing; and SharePoint sites (including external-facing sites and personal Web sites) and content management. E2 will add the new Office Web Apps, which enable viewing and limited editing of Office documents in a browser. E3 will add a subscription license to the desktop Office Professional Plus suite, as well as advanced Exchange and SharePoint capabilities. The advanced capabilities will include voice mail and better e-mail archiving in Exchange, as well as forms processing features and Web-based reporting components (such as Excel Services and Visio Services) in SharePoint. E4 will add more Lync voice features, including the ability to handle calls with conventional telephones, but these features will not be available at the 2011 launch of Office 365.
