The Office 365 Video portal provides organizations with secure Microsoft-hosted sites for viewing, sharing, discussing, and discovering company video content. For example, an organization can use the service to share videos of executive communications, training sessions, and presentations. Office 365 Video can deliver better search and navigation and more efficient delivery than storing and sharing videos through network drives and intranet sites. Client updates also optimize the user interface to work on phones and tablets and introduce the ability to create e-mails with a link to a video from the playback page, improving on the previous manual process.

Improvements rolling out in the second half of 2015 include an HTML5 video player that removes the need for a separate plug-in on some browsers and a new iPhone application that can create and post videos remotely. Updates will also improve search and playback performance and further integrate the service with Office Graph to help users find relevant videos. Longer-term, Microsoft will apply technologies used in the Office 365 Video portal to other kinds of Web portals to corporate information, such as portals for locating expertise inside organizations.
