The SharePoint Designer product for SharePoint site customization is now free. SharePoint Designer and the separate Expression Web product both descend from FrontPage, a longtime Web design product that was discontinued after the 2003 release.

FrontPage service packs have been delivered with Office service packs, even though FrontPage is no longer bundled with any edition of Office. FrontPage 2000 updates came with Office 2000 service packs, while FrontPage 2002 updates came with Office XP and FrontPage 2003 updates came with Office 2003.
