Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) received a major update in late 2004. Called MOM 2005, the new version features better scalability and performance, a new Web-based reporting system based on SQL Server Reporting Services, and an improved operator’s console. Mainstream support for this version will continue through 2009 at a minimum, but it could last longer if the successor version is delayed.
