Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 are the only fully supported versions of Microsoft’s server OSs as of June 2004. Extended support for Windows NT 4.0 Server ends Dec. 31, 2004, and support other than security-related hotfixes requires a custom support contract.

As with other products, server OSs are supported with only the most recent service pack, but customers receive one year to migrate to that service pack. This means, for example, that Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 3 will be supported until June 26, 2004.
