Charts & IllustrationsPools and Points
Microsoft divides its products into pools and assigns different point values to the products, generally based on their relative prices. The total points earned within a given pool are used to calculate the customer’s discount level. For Open License Level C pricing, for example, the customer’s initial purchase must be worth 500 points in a pool to get a discount in that pool. The chart shows the three product pools in the left column, examples of products in those pools in the middle column, and the point values for those products in the right column.
