SharePoint Server 2016 will be supported until 2026, but feature upgrades might be required. The accompanying graphic shows planned retirement dates for supported SharePoint versions prior to 2016, and a hypothetical future for the 2016 version.

All SharePoint Server versions promise ten years of eligibility for Microsoft product support. The 10 years are over for the 2007 version on Oct. 10, 2017, for the 2010 version on Oct. 13, 2020, and for the 2013 version on Apr. 11, 2023.

SharePoint Server 2016 also qualifies for 10 years of Microsoft product support. However, Microsoft has announced that it will deliver new features to SharePoint Server 2016 with frequent feature packs, rather than with full versions of the software every two to three years. The company has not announced a support policy for the feature packs.
