Charts & IllustrationsSystem Center Integration
System Center products integrate to automate typical IT processes. This illustration shows the System Center components (dark shading) used in a systems management infrastructure and how they relate to typical IT processes. Arrows indicate flows of information or control. For example, users can request resources, such as a virtual machine (VM), either through a self-service portal or by sending a request to an organization’s help desk where IT staff provision resources using the Service Manager control panel and have those resources quickly provisioned and allocated automatically. The infrastructure components can then continue to monitor the resources using Virtual Machine Manager and Operations Manager and coordinate patching or fault remediation using workflows managed by Orchestrator. A single configuration management database (CMDB) maintains inventory and status of all servers, VMs, and networks. Not shown is Endpoint Protection, which provides antimalware for all servers and is managed using Configuration Manager.
