SP2 fixes many base and desktop OS problems. Listed here are fixes arranged alphabetically by category. This chart combines some categories that Microsoft lists separately, such as Desktop Shell and Desktop Technologies, because the categories are related. The largest number of problems fixed are in the base OS (for example, a problem that causes Windows Server 2008-based multiprocessor systems to stop responding when resuming from standby or hibernation) or on the desktop (such as a problem that prevents an application from starting when files are dragged onto a shortcut).
