Charts & IllustrationsVista Retail and WAU Pricing
This chart shows Microsoft’s suggested retail prices in the United States for buying stand-alone (“full package product,” or FPP, in Microsoft parlance) copies of each edition of Vista, buying upgrades from earlier versions of Windows (Windows 2000 or later) to each edition of Vista, and buying upgrades from one edition of Vista to a higher edition through the Windows Anytime Upgrade (WAU) program. Microsoft does not publish OEM prices for any edition of Windows preinstalled on a new computer. Two other versions are not shown in the chart. The Starter edition of Vista will not be sold in the United States (or other high-income markets as defined by the World Bank), and Vista Enterprise is available only through volume licensing.
