Windows 10 version 1809 became generally available for the second time on Nov. 13, 2018, and will be supported until May 2021. The accompanying illustration shows releases and retirements of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 versions released through the Current Branch for Business (CBB) and Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) servicing tracks, and Windows 10 Long-Term support versions.

Version 1809 was initially made available on Oct. 2, 2018, and then recalled before its latest release. Problems with version 1809 mean organizations may want to skip it and instead get to and remain on Windows 10 version 1803 until the next major SAC version, which is labeled 1908 in this timeline and likely to be available in Sept. 2019. Under Microsoft’s current Windows support policy (which changes frequently), major versions of the Enterprise and Education editions that become generally available in September are supported for 30 months. Minor versions of those editions that become generally available in March are supported for 18 months. Versions of Home and Pro are always supported for only 18 months.
