Windows 10 servicing and support policies were modified again in Sept. 2018 to give organizations more time to deploy versions. Windows 10 versions are serviced and supported in the following channels:

The Semi-Annual Channel (SAC), which is used by businesses for most desktops. Initially, the SAC was called the Current Branch for Business. Now, the SAC delivers new versions of Windows 10 twice annually, with each version receiving support for at least 18 months.

The Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC), which is intended only for specialized devices, such as point-of-sale terminals. Initially, it was called the Long-Term Servicing Branch. The LTSC delivers new versions of Windows 10 once every two to three years, with each version receiving five years of Mainstream support and five years of Extended support.

Going forward, from Sept. 2018, the September SAC versions will be supported for 30 months (Enterprise or Education editions only), and the March SAC versions will continue to be supported for 18 months in all editions. All previous Windows 10 releases still in support as of Sept. 2018 will have the support window extended to a total of 30 months. All support windows are measured from the date of general availability of the version.
