This table summarizes the Windows Service Pack Roadmap. Information about preceding service packs is included because Microsoft continues to support the preceding service pack for one year after the current service pack is released to give customers time to test and deploy the current service pack.

The release date of Windows 2000 Service Pack 5 (SP5) is “to be determined” (TBD), but as it will likely be one of the last service packs for Windows 2000, it could be released in 2005. Historically, the time between service packs increases as a product ages because the most serious bugs are found early in the product’s life.
