The way Windows Autopatch collects diagnostic data is changing and, as a result, organizations need to create and deploy their own Windows Diagnostic data collection policy to ensure future updates and patches are deployed without error. Prior to Mar. 2025, Autopatch automatically configured devices to the required diagnostic level. As part of ongoing service maintenance, starting on Mar. 3, 2025, Autopatch will remove the Windows Autopatch Data collection policy it previously set. (Completion of this change may take up to two weeks.) Going forward, organizations need to ensure that the Diagnostic setting for Windows 10 and Windows 11 Autopatch-managed devices is set, at a minimum, to the Required level of diagnostic reporting.
