Entra Permissions Management, a centralized service offering multi-cloud permissions management, has been retired, is no longer available to license, and is supported only through Sept. 2025. This leaves customers with less than six months to migrate to solutions from third parties, including Delinea, a vendor Microsoft has worked with to assist with customer migrations away from Entra Permissions Management. It is noteworthy that Microsoft ceased sale of the product without a direct replacement, indicating that the service may not have achieved significant adoption, while the company’s announcement also pointed to the need to focus on maturing the company’s recently announced Entra Suite. Entra Permissions Management—first generally available during 2022—came to Microsoft with the acquisition of CloudKnox in 2021. The retirement of Entra Permissions Management was quietly announced by Microsoft at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/microsoft-entra-blog/important-change-announcement-microsoft-entra-permissions-management-end-of-sale/4399382.
