SQL Server 2005 will leave Mainstream support in Apr. 2011. Shown here are life cycle support dates as well as initial release dates and service pack histories for versions of SQL Server prior to SQL Server 2008.

After a version has left Mainstream support, most product support requires a paid contract, such as Premier support. After the end of Extended support, further support requires a custom support contract, available while the customer is migrating to a newer version.
