By July 1, 2017, all commercial customers will have lost the ability to make new purchases through Select contracts. Prior to that date, medium and large commercial customers desiring volume license discounts on new transactional purchases (that is, made at the time of the customer’s choosing and in any quantity) will have to transition to the new Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA). Pictured is the phaseout schedule for Select Plus contracts, first introduced in Oct. 2008, and the schedule for contracts signed under the original Select program, called Select “classic” here. Although Select programs are being phased out, customers still retain all perpetual licenses acquired under the old agreements.
