  • AAD entitlement management is a new feature that consolidates and simplifies granting internal and external user access to Office 365 and AAD-integrated resources.
  • Entitlement management is useful to get Office 365 rapidly provisioned by granting users access to all the software and services that they need with one approval workflow.
  • Entitlement management provides better administrative oversight and control over who has been granted access to and usage of applications and sites and which entitlements should be revoked, but the feature requires AAD Premium P2 licenses for each user managed through it.

Azure Active Directory (AAD) entitlement management allows administrators to group together and grant access to all of the SharePoint Online sites, AAD groups, Microsoft Teams, and AAD-integrated applications that a user may need access to for a given project or may need to collaborate with others to perform her job. Key capabilities of entitlement management include user self-service, managed approval, and automatic access expiration. The capabilities offered by this feature should help organizations more readily grant, manage, and audit access to key applications. However, the feature is new, still evolving, and requires AAD Premium P2 licenses for all users managed through it.
