Analyst ReportAzure Machine Learning Gets Enhancements
The Azure Machine Learning (ML) service has been updated with new tools and features. Azure ML allows customers to perform statistical algorithms on data to draw conclusions based on known results in similar data, for purposes such as product recommendations. The updates bring compatibility with several machine learning frameworks, which could allow moving existing projects to Azure ML. New deployment options could allow models built with Azure ML to be used for more solutions than previously. However, the Azure ML updates are in preview, and several other paid services may be required to deploy machine learning solutions on Azure.
Machine Learning Predicts Based on Existing Data
Machine learning has become a popular process for many types of applications where large amounts of data are available to predict trends or derive patterns. It is the basis of the latest industry efforts to develop artificial intelligence, which Microsoft emphasizes as a critical focus for the company.
The latest solutions for speech and image recognition, search, language translation, automated assistants (bots), e-mail spam filters, and fraud detection typically rely on machine learning algorithms. The technology can be applied to applications by using Azure ML to develop and host custom models (machine learning configurations trained from existing data to produce results given new data) or by using models developed elsewhere, such as Microsoft’s Cognitive Services.
