A new program for Internet startups offers business and technical guidance, development and production software, and publicity for their products. The BizSpark program will encourage startups that are building Internet-based “software as a service” (SaaS) solutions to build their solutions on Microsoft’s platform, gives Microsoft some traction among venture capital firms, and could seed development of new products that use Microsoft’s “cloud computing” platform, the Azure Services Platform.
Program Benefits
Participants in the BizSpark program get the following benefits:
- Free software, including a subscription to the Visual Studio Team System Team Suite with MSDN Premium (Microsoft’s most advanced development bundle), plus Team Foundation Server Standard Edition for development teams and Expression Studio for Web graphics and design, which together would normally cost more than US$15,000.
- Free production licenses for deploying a SaaS application using Windows Server Enterprise Edition,
