Analyst ReportBizTalk Server 2009 Released
BizTalk Server 2009, now generally available, offers new platform support (including compatibility with Windows Server 2008), new and updated application adapters, and improved developer tools integration. The release does not radically change what customers can do with the product, but brings the product up to date with Microsoft’s latest platform, improves performance, and reduces the customization required to integrate it with some applications such as the Oracle E-Business Suite and SQL Server.
Application Integration and B2B Commerce
BizTalk Server is Microsoft’s product for application integration and business-to-business (B2B) commerce. It includes a messaging engine that serves as a hub for application-to-application communication and a workflow system (called Orchestration) for programming business processes that cut across applications. BizTalk has built-in management tools, such as Business Activity Monitoring, which enables organizations to capture and analyze status data from business processes, and Visual Studio plug-ins for coding custom integration solutions on top of the product.
