Changes to Ad, Sales Groups

New leadership in the Microsoft Advertising product group and in the sales team responsible for marketing Microsoft products to small and midmarket partners are the most notable changes to Microsoft’s corporate organization in spring 2010.

This article covers all known organizational changes at the corporate vice-presidential level and above since Feb. 2010 that have not been previously covered in Update.

Scott Howe, who was corporate vice president of Advertiser and Publisher Solutions, has left the company. He joined Microsoft as part of its 2007 acquisition of aQuantive and oversaw business and product strategy for Microsoft’s online advertiser and publisher customers. Howe was the last senior Microsoft executive from aQuantive. Other former aQuantive executives who left Microsoft in 2009 include Karl Siebrecht, who was vice president of advertising platform product management and now is CEO of online advertising startup AdReady; Clark Kokich, who led the Razorfish advertising and digital marketing agency, which Microsoft sold to Publicis Group in Aug. 2009; Mike Galgon, who was chief advertising strategist; and former aQuantive CEO Brian McAndrews.
