  • Several tools provide reporting, analytics, and insights into Microsoft 365 Copilot and agent usage within organizations.
  • The tools vary by how they’re accessed, what they analyze, how they’re licensed, who they’re intended for, and other factors.
  • Most customers will need to use a combination of the tools because there is no consolidated experience yet available.
  • The fledgling Agent 365 control plane arriving in May 2026 might eventually bring the tools into a more cohesive offering.

Observing and analyzing Microsoft 365 (M365) Copilot and agent attributes, such as readiness, usage, and business value, is critical for organizations committing to these often-pricey AI-based solutions. Microsoft offers a growing set of tools for this purpose, but their characteristics vary, and their overlapping functionality can cause confusion and uncertainty about which to use. Furthermore, they haven’t been consolidated into a single experience, but the new Agent 365 control plane could eventually bring that. Customers should be aware of the tools that are offered and evaluate which meet requirements before establishing processes for reporting on M365 Copilot and agent effectiveness.
