  • The last release of System Center Configuration Manager in 2018, version 1810, continues the focus on management of Windows 10 devices.
  • Configuration Manager will increasingly share the device management stage with Intune and will have infrastructure hosted on Azure.

System Center Configuration Manager version 1810 became available in Nov. 2018. The release could help customers better manage Windows 10 deployments and upgrades, continuing the trend of reliance on Microsoft-hosted services while adding no new features for on-premises server management.

Key improvements include features that help in the following scenarios:

  • Deployment and management of Windows 10 desktop applications
  • Management of large Windows 10 deployments and upgrades
  • Support for deployments of Configuration Manager on Windows Server 2019
  • Building resilient content delivery infrastructure
  • Gaining better insights into existing systems and software.

Client Management Enhancements

New client-centric features focus on application deployment, Windows 10 deployment and management, and Intune integration.
