Prices for Dynamics CRM 4.0, the latest version of Microsoft’s customer relationship management (CRM) application are largely unchanged for organizations that support more than 75 CRM users. Furthermore, customers of Dynamics CRM 3.0 Professional Edition, the high-end edition of the product’s last version, can upgrade to the new CRM 4.0 Enterprise Edition without incurring incremental licensing fees, although maintenance costs will rise. However, Microsoft has eliminated CRM Small Business Edition, a low-cost, single-server CRM edition for customers with fewer than 75 users. Consequently, most new customers with fewer than 75 users will purchase CRM 4.0 Professional, which is more expensive.

This article covers licensing and pricing only for organizations buying Dynamics CRM for an on-premise deployment. Licensing and pricing for hosting partners and pricing for Microsoft’s planned CRM Live service are described in “CRM Prices Drop for Hosters“.
