Microsoft’s generative AI technologies integrated into Bing are being increasingly pitched as a part of Microsoft 365 suites although they are not licensed as such, and the technology has been renamed yet again to highlight the differences. The key difference between the free and paid-for commercial variants is purely data privacy guarantees. Few other significant feature differences exist.

What Is Microsoft Copilot within Bing?

Microsoft Copilot—the latest name for the company’s generative AI technologies integrated into Bing, can answer questions, assist with some summarization tasks (if appropriate permission is granted by the user), as well as generate certain types of content and graphics.
