Analyst ReportDynamics AX 2012 on Roadmap
Dynamics AX 2012 was unveiled at the Microsoft Dynamics AX Technical Conference in Jan. 2011 in Redmond, WA. Dynamics AX is the company’s high-end enterprise resource planning (ERP) product and is aimed at multinational companies or divisions of large companies with 200 to 7,500 employees. Dynamics AX 2012, the next release, will deliver features to serve new target markets, such as the public sector, and broad improvements in areas such as finance, substantially expanding the scope of the product and the types of organizations that would consider it. Interoperability with important Microsoft platform products such as Visual Studio and SharePoint will aid customization and help the product reach more users inside organizations, but will also raise the bar for deployment.
The Premier ERP Product
Dynamics AX is sold worldwide and is the fastest-growing of Microsoft’s four ERP products. It is also the only ERP product in which Microsoft is investing in major increases in industry scope: with the help of partners, the company is building or has bought Dynamics AX extensions that take the product well beyond its initial focus on discrete manufacturing and distribution to handle process manufacturing, retail, professional services, and public sector organizations.
