Dynamics CRM Online 2016 Spring Update 1 introduces advanced mobile field service and maintenance capabilities to help field staff work independently, project management features that help plan and track long-running projects, and updates to mobile applications that enable offline use for remote users. Other improvements include Web portal design tools that can extend CRM processes to external customers and partners. Many of the new features require add-on subscriptions, and some will require integration with other solutions to be effective. Additionally, the update policy has changed and organizations must accept updates annually, which will result in more testing and validation.

CRM service capabilities have advanced with the introduction of new field service and project service capabilities.

New field service functionality comes from technology acquired from FieldOne Systems, a supplier of mobile field service and predictive maintenance solutions. The acquired features fill two important gaps in Dynamics CRM’s field service capabilities:
