  • Dynamics 365 customers reaching the end of their agreements are finally being forced to transition from plans to à la carte licensing.
  • Customers need to choose the right User SLs, add-on subscriptions, and stand-alone services, and know which capacity limits to monitor.
  • Successful transitions involve a fair bit of cleanup, but doing so can help customers avoid overbuying and, in many cases, reduce cost compared to plans.

Dynamics 365 plans were a licensing option that provided access to multiple applications and other benefits. While aspects of licensing remain the same from 2019, there are important differences and understanding the nuances of à la carte licensing can help customers control costs, avoid duplicate licensing, manage capacity limits, and know how to map users to the new application lineup.
