Analyst ReportForefront Client Security SP1 Ships
The first service pack for Forefront Client Security (FCS), one of Microsoft’s antimalware products for protecting client, server, and virtual machines, was released in Aug. 2008. In addition to rolling up previously released hotfixes, SP1 works with Windows Server 2008 and the Home editions of Vista, which were not supported in the product’s initial release. However, only the client agent is supported on x64 OSs; the server components require a 32-bit version of Windows Server.
Windows Server 2008 but Only 32-Bit
Forefront Client Security is a part of Microsoft’s Forefront security product suite, which provides malware protection for servers and desktops. FCS consists of agent software that runs on client computers, as well as several server components that maintain and manage malware information such as virus signatures and updates. The server components include a management server, a collection server, a reporting server, and a distribution server which can run together on a single Windows server or on different servers. SQL Server 2005 with SP1 or later is also required.
