The InfoPath forms application and SharePoint Designer customization tool have been discontinued, but the 2013 versions will be supported on SharePoint Server 2016 until 2026. Shown here are the support dates for recent versions of InfoPath, SharePoint Designer,, and SharePoint Server.
InfoPath is a client application for designing electronic forms. Forms can be filled out in the client or published to SharePoint to be filled out in a browser. Office 2016 Professional Plus and the corresponding versions of the Office 365 ProPlus subscription suite do not include InfoPath. However, organizations can install InfoPath 2013 separately alongside these suites. SharePoint Server 2016 includes the Forms Services server-side components for publishing and hosting InfoPath forms. Microsoft has said that InfoPath and Forms Services will be supported through SharePoint Server 2016’s life cycle, which will end in July 2026.
SharePoint Designer is a client application for customizing SharePoint sites, particularly for creating workflows. SharePoint Designer 2013 SP1 is the last version of the application, but it will be supported on SharePoint Server 2016 until 2026.
