InfoPath forms will work in SharePoint Server 2016, the next version of SharePoint Server on-premises, and some planned replacement technologies for InfoPath have been delayed or canceled. InfoPath is a client application for designing electronic forms, which can be filled out in the client, or published to SharePoint to be filled out in a browser. The InfoPath client ships in some editions of the desktop Office suite for Windows, and many organizations used it for forms design by power users of Office who might not use Visual Studio or other developer tools. According to a plan announced in Jan. 2015, organizations using InfoPath and SharePoint Server on-premises can count on support for about eight more years. However, Office 365 customers should be more cautious.

InfoPath On-Premises Through 2023

The new plan for InfoPath runs as follows (see the illustration “InfoPath and SharePoint Roadmap Overview“):

InfoPath 2013 will be the last version of the client, as previously announced. There won’t be an InfoPath client in Office 2016, the next version of the Office desktop suite for Windows.
