Analyst ReportIntune Handles Windows Phone 8.1 and Samsung KNOX
Windows Intune, Microsoft’s online device management service, is being updated with new features beginning Apr. 28, 2014. The updates add support for Windows Phone 8.1 and the Samsung KNOX Standard security platform, which provides more protection for information stored on Android smartphones and tablets. In addition, Intune will allow users to connect to their PCs from Android and iOS devices through updated Company Portal applications.
Continued Emphasis on Mobile Devices
Windows Intune is a Microsoft-hosted online service that provides antimalware, hardware and software inventories, health monitoring, software updating, and policy management, allowing organizations to manage PCs and mobile devices using online services hosted in Microsoft data centers rather than using an on-premises management and security infrastructure. It is available by subscription and may be obtained stand-alone or in combination with other products and services, such as System Center Configuration Manager, or as part of the Enterprise Mobility Suite.
