Kaizala is a mobile application and Microsoft-hosted service originally offered in emerging markets that provides persistent chat and an extensible platform for other business collaboration functions, such as task management. Kaizala is focused on employees, partners, and customers who do not have dedicated PCs, whom Microsoft sometimes calls “firstline” users.
Kaizala Pro Rolling Out to Office 365 Customers Globally
In Apr. 2019, Microsoft announced that Kaizala Pro will become available to Office 365 and Microsoft 365 commercial customers in all global regions, and it is currently being rolled out.
Kaizala first launched in India before expanding in 2018 to countries outside of North America and Europe, such as Brazil and Indonesia. The service is focused on markets that have relatively few PC users but large populations of Internet-connected mobile phones. Kaizala resembles the Teams component of Office 365, as it provides persistent chat and an extensible platform for other business collaboration functions, but it allows sign-in with just a mobile phone number and does not require Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) accounts for end users.
