The new Microsoft 365 Enterprise F1 suite targets “Firstline” workers, who typically do not have their own desks or dedicated PCs. It delivers limited User Subscription Licenses for Windows Enterprise, Office 365 services, and some Enterprise Mobility + Security suite components. The suite gives organizations a less expensive way to equip and manage workers who mainly use shared and mobile devices. However, organizations will have to carefully analyze each worker’s role and understand whether the suite’s many limitations will get in the way.

Major Components

A Microsoft 365 F1 User Subscription License (User SL) includes the following User SLs:

  • Office 365 Enterprise F1 (formerly K1), which provides access to limited versions of Microsoft-hosted e-mail and related services
  • Windows 10 Enterprise, which licenses devices for the company’s business OS edition, but with various limitations when compared to Windows 10 Enterprise E3
  • Azure Active Directory Premium Plan 1, a premium edition
