Analyst ReportNew Lead for Business Solutions
Kirill Tatarinov, previously the head of Microsoft’s Enterprise Management Division, will replace previous MBS head Satya Nadella, who left to take another Microsoft post after only six months on the job. Tatarinov has been a driving force behind the Dynamic Systems Initiative and Microsoft’s increased investment in systems management products. Although Tatarinov, who joined Microsoft in 2002, does not have an extensive background in business applications, he is highly regarded within Microsoft as a technical leader. Tatarinov’s appointment could bring a change in focus and priorities for MBS, such as a more aggressive approach in consolidating the group’s four similar but distinct enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications. However, no such changes have yet been announced.
Tami Reller, another MBS veteran and currently in charge of marketing for the group, acted as interim MBS lead while Microsoft searched for a replacement for Nadella. According to Microsoft, she will remain in MBS for several months to assist Tatarinov’s transition. Following the transition, she has indicated that she will likely move to another position in Microsoft, although outside of MBS.
