The Nokia 2520 is Nokia’s first tablet and will be one of the first devices to run Windows RT 8.1. In this illustration, the new Nokia 2520 tablet is shown with its included keyboard, which also serves as a folio-style cover and provides two additional USB ports for peripheral connectivity when used on a desktop. The device could help promote the viability of Windows RT, Microsoft’s OS for the ARM processor family. However, it’s not clear the role this device or any other unannounced Nokia tablets will play after Microsoft’s planned acquisition of Nokia, as Microsoft currently manufactures the only other devices available for sale running Windows RT 8.1: the new Surface 2 and the first-generation Surface RT.

Nokia’s 2520 (estimated price of US$499) includes a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of flash storage, with up to 32GB of additional storage available through an included microSD port, and support for Wi-Fi and 4G LTE. The 2520 features a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080. The polycarbonate shell comes in a range of colors that can vary, depending on the locale where the device is sold and the wireless carrier selected by the customer.
