Three new presidents have been named to lead Office, mobile platforms, and gaming. The promotions signal that Microsoft is not looking for outside leaders to fill the roles held by departing presidents Stephen Elop and Robert Bach and could indicate plans to split Dynamics and mobile devices back into independent segments for financial reporting. Ray Ozzie, the successor to company founder Bill Gates, has also announced that he will be leaving Microsoft.

This article covers all known changes to the Microsoft organization at the corporate vice-presidential level and above since Aug. 2010 that have not previously been covered in Update.

Three Presidents Replace Two

Three presidents replace two outgoing ones.

Kurt DelBene has been promoted from senior vice president of the Business Productivity Group to president of the newly formed Office Division. He will continue to oversee product development for the Office suite and server applications for communications and collaboration, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Communications (Lync) Servers, and will now take oversight of other roles, such as product management and marketing, for these products as well.
