New Professional Services Solution

The Professional Services Automation (PSA) Solution, produced by Microsoft Business Solutions, integrates modules from Microsoft’s Solomon financial software with Project 2002 client and server. The solution gives financial managers using Solomon, and project managers using Project, access to both project and budget data, allowing better management of project budgets and schedules.

With the PSA Solution, enterprise resources created in Project 2002 can use cost rates from the Solomon Project Series so that financial staff and project managers are always working with the same data, and the financial impact of change orders and revisions can be immediately reflected in overall project budgets. Revenue and cost budgets can be defined for every cost category within every project task, and project managers can receive alerts of potential cost overruns.

The PSA Solution integrates a number of existing products-the Solomon IV 5.0 client, Solomon IV 5.0 Server, Project 2002 Professional client, and Project 2002 Server-and allows Project to exchange data with Solomon modules, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, distribution, field service, general ledger, and payroll.
