Three executives were promoted to senior vice president in April 2005 while retaining their current positions:

Rick Devenuti is now senior vice president, Microsoft Services & IT, and remains responsible for service offerings worldwide, including Microsoft Consulting Services, Customer Support Services and all Microsoft internal IT functions. Devenuti has led the consolidation of Microsoft’s internal IT function with its consulting and support arms, and he is overseeing the company’s first foray into IT outsourcing. (See “Energizer to Use Microsoft IT” on page 31 of the Apr. 2005 Update.)

Mich Mathews is now senior vice president, Corporate Marketing Group. Her organization provides marketing expertise (e.g., advertising, branding, direct mail, and events) to the company’s product groups and subsidiaries and oversees corporate positioning and image-building efforts. On her watch, Microsoft has consistently remained one of the world’s most powerful brands, most recently coming in second (after Coca-Cola) in a July 2004 Business Week/Interbrand brand value study.
